Ultimate Blog Party 2011

Ultimate Blog Party 2011

Well Hello There!!

Welcome to my "hiding spot"!  Please close the door behind you and make sure not to let any kids in here!  This is MY area!  I sit in here and whisper so no one can find me.

My name is Heather and I'm a 30 year old mom to 4 boys.  Aidan is 9, Austin is 7, Avery is 4 and Andrew is 4 months.  All boys. All A names.

My 4 year old has speech apraxia, sensory integration, and social anxiety.  His therapists go back and forth on whether he has an aspergers diagnosis or not.  It will probably be a while before we truly know or not.  Right now I spend a lot of my life at his therapies.  He also attends a special needs preschool 4 days a week in the mornings.

Andrew was born in November and spent almost 2 weeks in the NICU.  Although he was born "on time" according to my dates, the NICU team thought he was closer to 35-36 weeks and his lungs were not ready.  He was on a ventilator for a while, then moved to a CPAP, then finally to nothing.  It was a scary time for me.  And it was absolute torture leaving him at the hospital when I was discharged.  We made it though and now he's growing like a weed and doing so well.  Just today he rolled from back to belly!

I participated last year in the UBP and couldn't wait to participate again this year!  I LOVE meeting new people and especially new mom bloggers!

Grab a cup of coffee and stick around!  I've been a slacker at posting lately, but I promise that will change!

I didn't know Avery might have Aspergers! Connor was diagnosed with that when he was 5. The things you learn about your friends via blogging :)

Hi! I followed you from the party! I have 3 boys with all Z names :-) ...and a little Z girl arriving this summer. 2 of my 3 monkeys are somewhere on the autism spectrum. My 6yo has Aspergers and I'm not quite sure where my 1yo sits yet since he's so little and we're just figuring things out. It's a long road to travel but it's not all bumpy :-)

This is my first year with the party. I, like you, am a busy mom. Sounds like life is one amazing ride spent sacrificing for your kids. Good for you! Can't wait to read more! Enjoy the party!

Hi Heather! Nice to meet you! I'll make sure not to let my kid in here :) I LOVE the name Avery. I'll have to talk my husband into it for our next baby... I think it'd go so well with "Levi". :) Can't wait to read more!

Just stopping by from the party; I promise not to tell where you're hiding, if you can get me a cup of good, dark hot cocoa... I'm a SAHM who also tries to hide, but darn it, they always find me! I think it's the dog...she smells me out and they just follow her. Anyway, if you need a place to hang out, you're welcome at my place http://theresjustonemommy.com

I have a 4 year old (5 at the end of this month) who's in speech therapy, as well. Though his official diagnosis is phonological delay disorder. He also has occupational therapy at the same time for attention issues. These kids are sometimes like puzzles, aren't they? So nice to meet you through the UBP!

I love your writing style! Very easy to read. I was discharged from the hospital without my newborn too. I ended up sleeping in the waiting room and then she was discharged the next day. So I can't imagine what it would be like for two weeks. Nightmare. Glad he is doing just fine now.

Stopping by from the UBP!

Hi! Stopping by from the UBP (little late, I know... sooo many great new blogs to read).

Your blog title and "theme" are super cute! I should try hiding when I'm blogging, instead of just raising my hand at my husband which means SHHHHH I'M BLOGGING.

I hope to see you around my neck of the woods at www.upperbottom.com

Cheers!
